We were given an overview of the different levels of exercise; KAIA, strength and balance. This overview put me at ease as I could be old and slow and still benefit from the workouts. From day one I was hooked After the first 6 weeks known as a “BRIK” I had lost 18 pounds and my energy level had increased."
The classes were tough but the coaches were motivating, helpful, and supportive. After 4 weeks I ran my first mile straight and kept getting better. I felt amazing and my self-confidence was building. Race day was terrifying, but Laura and Coach Celeste reassured me that they would be by my side. (No Kaia girl left behind!) At the three mile marker I kept telling myself, “you can make it one more mile,” at 5 miles I was really feeling fatigued but Laura and Celeste kept me on pace. And then… there was the finish line!
